When escalators where introduced they where called moving pathways. Oxfords car-park still has a sign explaining how to use it though the actual moving pathway is long gone.

Sculpting hell in light
The Cantor arts center at Stanford has a bronze of Rodins “gates of hell”. When photographing it you get the feeling he sculpted for light at the expense of form.
